Saturday evening (Australian time!) and nothing better to do that start a blog. I see by the little clock at the bottom of the edit screen that there are people in this round world who are told that it is actually Saturday Morning!
I intend this blog to be a place where I will ramble somewhat (as I am doing) and post some photographs which may be of some interest to other people.
Our family has been watching (probably far too much) the Winter Olympic Games from Canada. Cable TV has provided us with (at a price) more coverage than we could possibly watch. Many enjoyable hours watching fantastic athletes (and some less so) providing us with insights into sports hardly ever though about in this part of the globe. For some reason we found Curling rather enthralling! Ice hockey less so. The sliding sports are perhaps the most dangerous things we have seen at a world sports meeting for some time!
Free to air TV (in the form of GTV 9) provided fragments of sport with great swathes of talking heads and much jingoistic adulation of our "great Australian athletes". Time to grow up a bit.
